The Schoharie County Soil and Water Conservation District will soon be entering into agreements with the Villages of Schoharie and Middleburgh and the Town of Schoharie to bring much needed flood relief money to the areas hardest hit by hurricane Irene. These funds will be used to mitigate flood damages and help prevent further problems. The Soil and Water Conservation District is the agency that is responsible for updating the Soil Group Worksheets that are necessary for farm's tax exemptions. Typically these are completed between January and March.
