These tablets break down slowly, converting the tablet Nitrogen into forms that can be absorbed by the plant roots.  Place ONE tablet beside the plant's rootball, 4-6 inches from the surafce.  Do not place at the bottom of the hole where the roots will sit on it as this can "burn" the roots.  These tablets are typically effective for up to two years.
