This is an ornamental tree, typically planted for added visual interest to a landscape. You'll start to see rosy-pink blooms in April, even at only a few years of age. (Attracting nectar-seeking species). The leaves emerge a reddish color, turning dark green, and then yellow in the fall. It can reach 20-30 ft in height and spread 25-35 ft at maturity.
It prefers full sun and partial shade in moist, well-drained soils spanning the pH scale.
