1-2 years old, 4-8 inches tall.
Can reach 6-10 feet in height and width. The Spicebush has fragrant light green foliage that turns yellow in the fall. Males produce showy pale yellow flowers in the spring while females may produce red fruit in the early fall if planted near a male plant.
This shrub is useful in borders, woodland gardens, and in moist areas along ponds and streams. It prefers full shade to partial sun and moist soils.
